I work with clients to foster self-understanding and compassion, guiding them through a process that respects their unique experiences and perspectives. As a counselor, I use feminist theory and psychodynamic theories. I aim to support clients in normalizing their experiences and making sense of the world around them. Part of my work with clients may include the task of deconstructing/analyzing the messaging they could have heard as children and have now internalized as a part of their identity. These internalized messages may be harming their inner child, true self, or soul and creating suffering in the present. My focus is to help individuals reconnect with their inner truth and integrate it meaningfully into their current identity and sense of self.
I believe human beings know deep down how to heal themselves, and I’m very blessed to help clients get in touch with that inner voice and honor their true self. In my approach, the counselor’s role is to serve as a compassionate guide, witness, and advocate. I will work to listen openly and to create as safe of a space as possible for clients to explore their experiences.
I’m a counselor in training, working toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a projected graduation date of Summer 2025. Part of my personal study is educating myself on trauma informed approaches and existentialism. I am interested in working with LGBTQ+ and polyamorous clients as well as clients interested in exploring art therapy interventions. In my free time I paint, draw, write, and explore the forests of Oregon.
